It appears like you will be getting it around May/June, if everything goes as per plan (and those old rumour mill is churning out an honest strain of the truth this time around).
On Saturday 20th April, Nitin Agrawal of PC-tablet.com reported that the following generation of Samsung devices and tablets (including the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3) would come with Android 4.2.2. The article went on to say that,
Agrawal isn’t the only specialist to be predicting a May/June announcement for this newest Android update. It seems that, this summer timeline comes from Sam Mobile’s (The Samsung Mobile specialists) Twitter account and was broadly reposted within hrs of showing on the internet.
Though, the eventual issue is predicted to be overshadowed somewhat by the announcement of Android 5.0 (expected to be called ‘Key Lime Pie’). As outlined by Josh Smith at Gottabemobile.com,
“The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 may soon see an update to the latest version of Android. The latest rumor points to a Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.2.2 update in May or June, along with a Galaxy S3 4.2.2 update. This is good news for owners of the popular Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3, but it is likely that this update will come after the announcement of Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie) at Google I/O on May 15th”.
Now, I’m going to go out on a limb and presuppose that once the 4.2.2 version of Android appears on smart phones, it won’t be long before it’s obtainable on tablet pc’s. And yes, I am aware that assumption is the mother of all cock-ups, but Google seem to be playing their cards very near to their chest on this and dependable information is tough to find.
There are methods to gain an Android 4.2.2 custom-based ROM for the Google nexus device, if you actually can’t wait, but I unquestionably wouldn’t suggest it. The step-by-step instructions all come with disclaimers that say such things as:
“Disclaimer, if you are trying to accomplish something dodgy on your Android tablet and you f**k up your phone, we are totally not responsible. Nor are we to be held accountable if the phone leaks poisonous skin irritants from its battery cells all over your hands and slowly dissolves away the skin as you panic and try to phone for an ambulance with nothing but bloody stumps to dial with. There is a chance, albeit slim, that the phone may self-destruct and, in so doing, wipe your data (by this, please note when we do not mean your phone’s memory, but your actual memory – we’re talking amnesia here, like, walking down the streets of Soho at 6AM satisfied that you’re an out of work cult leader or something). Still, bad things never happen to good individuals, right?”
*This probably are not quoted from the specific source (but it’s not faraway).
So, for those of you who value the Nexus as the best 10 Inch tablet pc, your wait should not be a good one. On the other hand, once you see many of the goodies that Key Lime Pie is cramming into the bag, you could be nearly as excited anticipating Android 5.
So what’s Key Lime Pie?
We have to acknowledge, We would never heard of it, but in accordance with BBCgoodfood.com, best 10 inch tablet pc fans can anticipate:
Seems delicious :p
